I’m thrilled to be able to share this with you!!

Josh Evans from Photo Weavers contacted me earlier this month and offered to let me customize a woven blanket to review.  He explained that his company is family owned and they actually invented the photo blanket years ago.  They’re still making all of their products in their western North Carolina location.  The thing that struck me most about Josh was that he wanted to give me a blanket.  He said if I wanted to review and share with my fans, that would be great – but I certainly didn’t need to do that.  He seems like such a sincere person.  Of course when I got the blanket I couldn’t wait to sit down and tell you guys about it!!

I ordered it online by uploading my own photo and designing my blanket exactly as I wanted.  The process was simple, and there were several templates to help me make the perfect blanket for me.  They have different borders, fonts – to get various type effects, and other design elements to make each blanket very special.  They even have suggestions for phrases to use if you want.  In the end I chose a simple photo with a blue border on top and bottom, but I always tend to prefer plain, simple elegance.  But, don’t let me stop you!  You can get as creative as you want.  It’s really cool!  From the time I ordered to the time I received was only 6 days!  I would have thought this would take a lot longer, which may have prevented me – the ultimate holiday shopping procrastinator – from ordering one as a gift.

The blanket arrived this morning.  I was so excited to open it!  I knew it would be nice, but WOW.  This is truly an heirloom quality woven throw.  So nice, in fact, I really don’t think pictures can do it justice.  The detail in weaving is incredible.  I was an art major in college and actually took a weaving class (no, not basket weaving for an easy A!)  I could never do something this beautiful.   I can totally understand how someone would be blown away to receive this as a gift. Giving a quality gift that will last, and that’s customized specifically for a person or occasion really says “I love you!”

It’s sturdy too, and although not super heavy there is definitely some good weight to it.  It’s warm; I can imagine snuggling under it, curled up with a book next to the fireplace on a cold winter day.
