POSTGAME Shampoo & Body Wash – Review & Giveaway
The folks at POSTGAME sent me a bottle of 3-in-1 (shampoo, conditioner and body wash), as well as a separate sample of shampoo and of body wash. Since POSTGAME is for male athletes, I asked Mr. Gimmie to give it a try.
About the 3-in-1: am I the only one who thinks it’s too much to ask of a product to be shampoo, conditioner and body wash? It’s like the old Saturday Night Live commercial for Shimmer: the dessert topping that doubles as a floor wax, with Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd and Gilda Radner. “Tastes great…and just look at that shine!”
Okay, POSTGAME 3-in-1 isn’t quite that far fetched I suppose. Mr. Gimmie thought that the conditioner wasn’t as heavy as he’s used to. Of course, you wouldn’t want to wash your body with hair conditioner, so I assume that’s a good thing. We both thought it smells really good. They have a variety of sports fresh scents. As far as body wash, he wasn’t used to the lack of lather. It lacks lather because it’s sulfate-free, and that’s a very good thing which I’ll explain later. He felt like it didn’t wash off completely clean because his skin didn’t feel dry like it usually does. I think he’s used to a Zestfully clean that requires you put on moisturizer. POSTGAME has moisturizers built right in.
The POSTGAME Shampoo worked well and left his hair feeling clean and smelling great. He said he preferred the POSTGAME body wash over the 3-in-1 as body wash. He thought it worked better and left him feeling cleaner. But also added that it’s probably a personal preference you’d have to see for yourself.
They also have various sports themed packaging featuring baseball, basketball, football, hockey, lacrosse and soccer. Click here to see them all on their website POSTGAME.
POSTGAME is a salon quality sulfate-, paraben- and phthalate-free line of products for male athletes. The products are made with extra conditioner and lotion to keep skin and scalp hydrated even with repeated use. Postgame features a variety of sport fresh scents that smell great but do not overpower the room. As a company, Postgame is committed to a family-values approach in our advertising, (no sexual content in our ads – only sports). Postgame also endeavors to “give back” by offering every sports organization & charities the opportunity to have their own coupon to create a continuous passive fund raising opportunity while allowing their players to use Postgame.
All this chemistry talk basically just means they don’t use stuff that is bad for you. Sulfate (a sudsing agent) is actually used in floor stripper. Hey, I knew I was on to something with Shimmer! Exposure to parabens (a preservative) has been linked to cancer. And phthalate (a fragrance enhancer) is suspected of causing damage to the kidneys, liver, lungs and reproductive organs. Yikes!! Nice to know these guys do not use this stuff.
Speaking of coupon codes and charity, you can use code REDCROSS when purchasing POSTGAME on their website. They’ll donate $1 to the Japan tsunami/earthquake disaster fund, and you’ll save $1 too! And you can contact them if you have a sports organization that would like more information on setting up as a charity.
POSTGAME has successfully created a sports brand, that is high quality, free of harmful chemicals, properly marketed, and most of all heavily involved in giving back.
…and just look at that shine.
