Kakadu Pet Slicker Brush – Review and Giveaway

The folks at Kakadu Pet sent me a Slicker Brush to review, and to tell you about.

This is a great slicker brush that Bad Kitty absolutely loves.  You probably thought her name would be “Gimmie Kitty” didn’t you?  Well, it’s not.  She belongs to Gimmie Jr. and she’s possessed.  Although given enough time she may warm up to you (I’m talking months here, folks), and she may stop attacking your ankles and threatening your firstborn…  That is in no way guaranteed.   She’s quite a bit of fun though.  Don’t get me wrong, I like cats well enough. We used to have four!  They all passed away of old age in a very happy home where they were highly loved and very well taken care of.  But this cat makes me question whether I like cats.  A good friend was visiting (I believe she has 6 cats) and tried to tell me that I just didn’t understand this cat.  When the cat cornerd her in the bathroom and nearly took off a limb, she changed her tune fast.  Ha, ha, no wonder we don’t get many visitors.

But, I digress.  The Kakadu Slicker Brush works extremely well for slicking Bad Kitty’s fur to a beautiful sheen.  I was happy to see Gimmie Jr. brushing his cat because I knew that meant so much less cat hair joining forces with dust bunnies in the far reaches of our home that I’d inevitably have to clean up.  This is preventative and it’s smart.

Plus, the little eject button is so cool!  Just press the back of the brush and it pushes all the fur off of the bristles in a uniform and orderly fashion.  Said fur can then be easily disposed of (oh don’t get me started on the kid’s room okay?)

Since Gimmie dog is a miniature pincher, he has super short hair that doesn’t really require slicking. However, the act of brushing is like heaven for this little pooch so we’ve decided to play along.  The bristles, or “pins” as they call them, aren’t stiff but they’re sort of like a wire brush that just feels good when you use it.  He loves it.  I’d imagine on a longer haired (furred?) dog it would work more like it’s supposed to and that little eject button could be put to proper use.
