What to do if you've signed up for a Fake Freebie?
Most fake freebies are more-or-less harmless. If they're just trying to get your info or have you sign up so they get paid, the worst that can happen is you'll get a lot of spam. I recommend having a secondary email account & phone number to use for signing up for freebies. If you've signed up for a freebie that we've deemed malicious, malware or viruses may have been loaded on your computer. Run a scan with a good antivirus program and/or a malware fighter such as Malwarebytes Antimalware. They have a free version that works fine and will remove threats on your computer. And be sure you have a good antivirus program whenever you're connected to any network, including the internet! A nice, free antivirus program I've used a lot is Avast. If you've signed up for an offer on Facebook, you may want to remove the app so they can't access your profile or post on your behalf.

- Don't fall for phishing attempts (malicious websites created to steal your private information) or spammers. Follow GimmieFreebies! We personally verify the legitimacy of every single offer we post. It takes a lot more time, but we feel it's worth it to protect our friends. Use an Autofill Program. Google toolbar has an Autofill feature, and Roboform has a free version with autofill capabilities. Autofill is a must for freebie hunters. Just set it, and fill out your freebie forms with 1-click. Imagine not having to type your name, address, city, state, zip, phone, etc., every time! Note: they don't work on all forms, some forms require additional info and may have questions you need to answer. But, it sure is a time saver! Roboform tends to work on more forms than Google Toolbar's Autofill feature. Roboform has a paid version, but you probably don't need it.
