Check those hash browns! McCain Foods USA, Inc has a voluntary recall on Harris Teeter, Roundy’s and Wegmans frozen hash brown products. The recall is because these products may be contaminated with extraneous golf ball materials, namely hard plastic or rubber pieces. The golf balls was inadvertently harvested with potatoes used to make this product, despite the stringent supply standards they have in place.
The products included in this recall are:
Roundy’s Brand, 2 lb. Bag of Frozen Southern Style Hash Browns (UPC 001115055019)
Harris Teeter Brand, 2 lb. Bag of Frozen Southern Style Hash Browns (UPC 007203649020)
Wegman’s Brand 28-ounce bag of frozen O’Brien Hash Browns (UPC 07789036523)
The Roundy’s products were distributed at Marianos, Metro Market, and Pick ‘n Save supermarkets in the states of Illinois and Wisconsin. The Harris Teeter products were distributed in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia and Maryland. Wegman’s product was distributed in the states of Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
No other products have been impacted.
There have been no reported injuries.
If you have purchased or have these items in your freezer, do not consume! Either discard them or return them to place of purchase for refund.
