Check your freezer Aldi’s shoppers! Lakeside Foods, Inc. of Manitowoc, WI which packages this product for Aldi’s has a voluntary recall on Seasons Choice Frozen Sweet Peas. If you have purchased frozen peas at Aldi’s you need to check the information below to make certain that they are not the ones on recall that may be contaminated with Listeria. Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
There is a recall for Aldi’s store brand Seasons Choice Frozen Sweet Peas. These products were distributed to Aldi stores in Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia.
The frozen sweet peas were packaged in 16 oz. bags with a UPC code 041498164294, a best-by date of August 2018 and the following packaging codes:
To date, no illnesses related to this product have been reported, and no other ALDI products are affected by this recall
If you have any of the recalled frozen sweet peas, do not consume! Return the product to Aldi’s for refund or throw the product out.
Aldi’s has removed recalled product from shelves at this time.
