6.5 Million Pounds of Raw Beef Products Recalled Due To Possible Salmonella Contamination

JBS Tolleson, Inc., has recalled over 6.5 million pounds of beef products due to possible salmonella contamination! The beef products that are in this recall were packaged on dates between July 26, 2018, and Sept. 7, 2018. The products will have the establishment number “EST. 267 in the USDA inspection mark.
These beef products were shipped nationwide to various retailers. The products were sold under the brands Cedar River Farms Natural, Comnor Perfect Choice, Gourmet Burger, Grass Run Farms Natural, JBS Generic, Showcase, and Showcase/Walmart.
There have been 57 cases of illness in 16 states reported so far.
Symptoms of salmonella are diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps. These symptoms develop 12 to 72 hours after exposure. The illness will last for 4 to 7 days with no treatment.
In some cases, diarrhea may be so severe that the patient needs to be hospitalized. Salmonella infection may spread from the intestines to the bloodstream and then to other places in the body.
In rare cases, Salmonella infection can cause death unless the person is treated promptly with antibiotics.
Because of this recall, do not consume this product if you have it rather than take a chance on becoming ill.
